At MadeBy Shops, we’re proud to be more than just a platform. We are a community, built by creators, for creators. Each member of our team, including myself, is actively engaged in creating handmade or handcrafted goods, which is why fostering a supportive space for creators is at the heart of what we do.

Today, we’re thrilled to welcome Tabby, a longtime friend and one of our very first vendors, as the newest member of our team! Having worked with Tabby in the private sector, I’ve always admired her honesty, warmth, and unwavering support. From the very start of this journey, I have bounced many ideas off of her. Her candid approach has been invaluable. She’ll tell you the truth, even if it’s hard to hear, because she genuinely wants to help you succeed.
Tabby began volunteering with MadeBy Shops, lending a hand in multiple areas while growing her own creative business. Now, she’s stepping into a full-time role in Vendor Relations, where she’ll use her insights and passion to support our vendors.
Not only is Tabby an integral part of our team, but she’s also a talented creator herself. Recently, she launched her embroidery business, bringing her creativity to life through beautifully crafted designs. We sat down with her to learn more about her journey and her thoughts on her new role:
Q&A with Tabby
What inspired you to start your embroidery business, and how has the journey been so far?
"I didn't start doing embroidery with the intention of starting a business. Embroidery was something that looked fun and 'simple' enough for me to learn, but it also came with the challenge of learning something new. I just happened to decide to start a business after making different items and running out of friends and family to gift the items to. The journey has been exciting and something I enjoy, especially with the help of MadeBy Shops."
What excites you most about taking on the Vendor Relations role?
"I'm excited to just be a part of this community that Dana wants to build for small businesses! I think that this group is a great idea, and I love being able to help her get it off the ground. I am looking forward to growing as a small business owner, but also as a person with this role. I love helping people, and if I can help support small businesses while doing it, I love that even more!"
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone thinking about turning their hobby into a business?
"I think the one piece of advice I would give someone is jump in and do it! You don't have to have an inventory full of ready-to-sell items. You just need and passion! We can help you with the rest."
How does your honest feedback style help in Vendor Relations?
"I take pride in giving people my honest opinion. I'm not a millennial, but I'm also not Generation X. I was fortunate enough to be in the middle of the two, and I think that gives me a unique perspective on things. I can give honest, helpful feedback to help better your shop, whether that be with the angle of the photos or the description of the item. I have a skill of seeing the big picture and things from both a vendor's and a buyer's perspective, and I am going to do my best to help you succeed!"
What do you love most about working with the MadeBy Shops community?
"The thing that I love most about working with this community is that we're all trying to do the same thing to succeed in this world, and we're all helping each other to do that. With every post shared, site visited, and comment made, we are bringing each other business, and that is so exciting!"
We’re so excited to have Tabby officially on board. Her passion, creativity, and honest approach make her a perfect fit for MadeBy Shops, and we can’t wait to see all she’ll accomplish in this new role. Don’t forget to check out her amazing embroidery work, now available in her shop!
